ACP is not always the right answer for highly exposed rooftop structures or areas where impact resistance is the primary concern. In those cases, formed aluminium, steel framing or a purpose-designed fabricated structure may be more suitable.
Aluminium and stainless steel for dimensional letters
For built-up letters, aluminium is a strong all-round material. It is lightweight, corrosion-resistant when properly finished and well suited to powder coating, paint systems and illuminated letter returns. It also expands with heat, so large faces need correct tolerances and a fabrication method that avoids stress at corners and fixing points.
Polycarbonate is more impact-resistant than acrylic and can be the better choice for selected protective faces, high-risk areas or technical applications. However, it can scratch more easily and may not offer the same visual clarity or premium finish required for every branded sign. The right choice depends on whether optical appearance, impact resistance or budget is leading the brief.
Cast vinyl, printed films and UV laminate
Vinyl graphics are effective for window branding, wall graphics, vehicle fleets, temporary campaigns and construction hoarding. In Dubai, external graphic work should be treated as a layered specification: the film, ink system, laminate, surface preparation and installation conditions all matter.
